Pervasive Justice is a peer-reviewed national journal published in both print and online formats, and is issued biannually. This publication ethics statement clarifies the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publishing process, including authors, the chief editor, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and the publisher, Borobudur University. This statement is based on the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in Pervasive Justice is a critical element in building a cohesive and respected body of knowledge in the field of law. It reflects the quality of both the authors' work and the institutions supporting them. Peer-reviewed articles in this journal support and exemplify the scientific method, ensuring that the work presented is of the highest academic standard.

It is important that all parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—adhere to ethical standards. These standards are designed to maintain the integrity of the journal and to ensure that the publishing process is fair and transparent.

Borobudur University, as the publisher of Pervasive Justice, takes its responsibility for all stages of the publication process seriously. We are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards, ensuring that editorial decisions are made without influence from external sources such as advertising or commercial revenue.

Publication Decisions

The editor is responsible for making final decisions on which articles should be published. This decision is based on the work’s quality and its importance to the field of law and the journal’s readership. Editors are guided by the journal's editorial policies, as well as legal considerations such as libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or reviewers to make an informed decision.

Fair Play

The evaluation of manuscripts is based solely on the quality of the research and its relevance to the field of law. Manuscripts will be assessed objectively and without bias. The primary focus of the journal is to foster high-quality legal research relevant to Indonesia and the broader global legal community.

Confidentiality

Editors and any editorial staff involved in the review process must maintain strict confidentiality about submitted manuscripts. Information about a manuscript must not be disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher, as necessary.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a manuscript must not be used in the editor's own research without the express written consent of the author. Editors and reviewers should recuse themselves from evaluating manuscripts in which they have any conflict of interest.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review plays a vital role in assisting editors in making decisions regarding manuscript publication. It also helps authors improve their papers through constructive feedback.

Promptness
If a reviewer feels unqualified to assess a manuscript or is unable to complete the review within the stipulated time, they should promptly notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers should not share or discuss the manuscript with others unless authorized by the editor.

Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted impartially. Personal criticism of the author is not acceptable. Reviewers should clearly express their views, supported by evidence.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify any relevant work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not use privileged information or ideas obtained through the peer review process for personal advantage. They should recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards
Authors of original research must provide an accurate representation of their work and a transparent discussion of its significance. All underlying data should be accurately represented, and sufficient details should be provided to enable others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable and constitute unethical behavior.

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. If authors have used the work or words of others, they must ensure proper citation and quotation.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit manuscripts describing essentially the same research to more than one journal or publication. Concurrent submissions to multiple journals are considered unethical and unacceptable.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment must be given to the work of others. Authors should cite the publications that have influenced their research and understanding.

Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in the research should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors are correctly listed and that all have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.

By following these ethical guidelines, Pervasive Justice ensures the integrity and quality of its publications, contributing to the advancement of legal scholarship and maintaining the trust of its authors, reviewers, and readers.
